Race for STL Aldermanic President reaches last day

Aldermanic President Jim Shrewsbury (left) and Ald. Lewis Reed

By Tom Weber, KWMU

St. Louis, MO – You're probably not alone if you're just now learning there's a primary election Tuesday in St. Louis City.

Compared to the roar of last fall's U.S. Senate and stem cell campaigns, Tuesday's races are hardly making a whimper.

But one of the city's most powerful jobs is on the ballot: President of the Board of Alderman. Incumbent Jim Shrewsbury faces a challenge from Alderman Lewis Reed.

KWMUs Tom Weber prepared this report.
