Woman and her three children killed in fire in Cahokia

By AP/KWMU

Cahokia, Ill. – A woman and her three children died this morning (Friday) in a house fire in the Metro-East town of Cahokia.

Officials say the 32-year-old woman was in the house with her nine-year old son, and her 10 and 11-year old daughters. The victims' names aren't yet being released.

Firefighters say they arrived at the home to find flames coming from three sides of the house. It's not known what caused the fire.

The fire left the small home charred on the inside -- its front picture window gone and its awnings melted by the fire.
