St. Louis, MO – Cheryl Levick has resigned as athletic director at St. Louis University. Her future at SLU had been in doubt ever since basketball coach Brad Soderberg was fired in April over her objections.

She'll now be the chief of staff for the the University of Maryland's athletic director, Debbie Yow. Yow is also a former SLU athletic director.

Levick will run internal operations for the program, which has a $55 million budget and 27 intercolliagete sports. Levick will start at Maryland in mid-August.

Levick was athletic director at Santa Clara before joining Saint Louis in 2004.

Calls to Saint Louis University seeking comment were not immediately returned.
