Consultant accused of stealing from college campaign fund
St. Louis, MO – A political consultant is accused of stealing more than $220,000 from a St. Louis Community College campaign fund. Steven Wyatt Earp of Fenton was arrested Tuesday.
Prosecutors say he used the money to buy a BMW, a Lexus and an engagement ring. The money in question was from an unsuccessful drive to pass a property tax increase last April.
Earp faces four charges of stealing, which were filed Monday. His attorney, Clinton Wright, says Earp is innocent and plans to fight the charges.
