One of the St. Louis region's oldest malls is up for a major facelift.
Aldermen in St. Ann are scheduled to discuss the redevelopment of Northwest Plaza tonight (Tuesday).
The mall was built in 1967 and has fallen on hard times in recent years. The property's new owner, though, has plans for a major overhaul.
Aldermen will consider the project itself, along with whether declare the sight blighted and approve so-called TIF funding. Some of the needed updates include new lighting for the mall's parking lot because the current system is considered a fire risk.
