St. Charles, Mo. – State Representative Tom Dempsey has won a seat to the Missouri state Senate.
The St. Charles Republican easily beat Democrat Ed Abbelbaum in a special election Tuesday, 56-44%.
Dempsey will take the seat that Chuck Gross recently gave up to take a job with St. Charles County government.
The result also means another special election now will have to be held to fill Dempsey's House seat.
