After-school programs expanded in St. Louis

St. Louis, MO – Democratic St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay and Republican Governor Matt Blunt will be joined by educational and business leaders today in announcing the expansion of after-school programs.

Slay has said that one of his top priorities is after-school programs for all children in the city. The goal for 2007 is to have programs for 1,000 students. Slay's office says nearly 1,300 slots have already been filled.
