Construction crane topples onto Clayton Rd.

St. Louis – Clayton road was closed at Interstate 64 early Friday after an 85-ton construction crane fell over.
There were no injuries, but Gateway Constructors spokesman Dan Galvin said the accident caused major traffic delays.
Galvin said workers were removing an old overpass as part of the I-64 overhaul.
"It was one of the girders for the Clayton-Warson bridge," Galvin said. "It was about the last one, unfortunately. And for whatever reason, one of the cranes tipped over on its side and dropped the girder across the road.
Galvin said the accident will not have a major impact on the overall construction schedule.
