Arch tram re-opens

By Adam Allington, KWMU

St. Louis, MO. – The tram in the south leg of the Gateway Arch has re-opened.

Roughly 200 people were trapped inside the landmark for several hours last summer after a snapped cable caused a power outage.

Engineers were unable to determine a single factor that caused the break, but say that the system is safe to operate.

About one million people take a ride to the top of the Arch every year.
