St. Louis – A funeral will be held Thursday for St. Louis firefighter Leonard Riggins, who was killed by a carjacker last week.

The fire department says visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Harris-Stowe State University's main administration building. Riggins' funeral will be held at the same place at 11 a.m. Thursday, with overflow seating available on campus.

On Wednesday, Riggins stopped to help at a crash scene in north St. Louis County.

He was shot by 19-year-old Christopher Brandon, who had carjacked the vehicle before wrecking it.

Brandon then stole Riggins' fire department vehicle and was shot dead by police after he pointed a weapon at them.
