Two off-duty St. Louis police officers involved in shootings at Pontoon Beach bar


Pontoon Beach, Ill. – Authorities in Illinois are investigating two shootings at a Metro East bar that both involved off-duty St. Louis city police officers.

Lt. James Morrisey of the Illinois State Police says one St. Louis officer shot a 25-year-old Granite City man in the chest early Sunday.

A short time later, a Pontoon Beach officer responding to the scene shot a second off-duty St. Louis police officer once in the head and once in the shoulder.

The victims' names have not been released.
