St. Louis – Banks and households aren't the only sectors of our economy straining under the weight of the recession.
Federal funding for science and research tapered off years before the downturn.
While the negative impacts may not be as obvious or immediate as the fallout from the housing and credit markets, the implications for future jobs and innovation may be just as dire.
