UConn wins women's NCAA basketball tournament

St. Louis – The Connecticut Huskies are the unbeaten champions of women's college basketball.

Tina Charles scored 25 points and grabbed 19 rebounds Tuesday night as UConn routed Louisville 76-54 in the national title game at the Scottrade Center.

The victory for the Huskies capped the most dominant season in women's basketball history. Connecticut won every one of its 39 games by double digits.

Angel McCoughtry had 23 points for Louisville (34-5) which lost to UConn for the third time this season.
