Thousands without power in storm

St. Louis – High winds has knocked out power to thousands of people in the St. Louis area.

The power company Ameren said that nearly 10,100 residential and business customers in Missouri were without power at the height of the outages Wednesday morning.
Another 7,200 of Ameren's customers in Illinois were also without electricity.

Kansas City Power & Light reported only scattered power outages
in its service areas in northwest Missouri.
