KCMO building evacuated for bomb threat

Employees have been evacuated from a building near downtown Kansas City because of a bomb threat.

Police said they received a report of a bomb threat at an office building next to Union Station about 8:20 a.m. Police spokesman Darin Snapp the bomb threat was left on the answering machine of a government agency located in the building. Snapp did not identify which government agency is in the building.

He said the building, which is several stories high, has been evacuated and officers with bomb sniffing dogs were searching the building.

Police said it was unclear how many people had been evacuated from the building.
