EPA says 4 Mo. pesticide companies to pay penalties

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Environmental Protection Agency has reached a civil settlement with four Missouri pesticide companies accused of violating federal regulations.

The regional office of the EPA in Kansas City, Kan., says the four companies will pay a $51,000 fine for violating federal pesticide laws in 2005 and 2008. The companies will also have to pay a $22,000 fine for previous violations in 2005.

The EPA says the companies are accused of selling unregistered pesticides.

The companies, all of Union, Mo., are FRM Chem; Advanced Products Technology; Synisys; and Custom Compounders.
