EUREKA, Mo. – A man found dead in a state park in St. Louis County was a suspect in a statutory rape case.
STLtoday.com, the website for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reported Wednesday that 57-year-old Kenneth McClure of St. Louis was arrested after a standoff with police in October. He was found shot to death Tuesday at Route 66 State Park, a few hours after he missed an appearance in the court case against him.
McClure was accused of sex with a 13-year-old girl.
In the October standoff, police showed up at the comic book shop he operated and he allegedly put a gun to his head before surrendering. He was also charged with resisting arrest.
