The Brecker Brothers

Jan 13, 2019

Jazz Unlimited for January 13, 2019, will present “The Brecker Brothers.”  The Brecker Brothers, saxophonist Michael and trumpeter Randy have forged highly successful careers playing in a wide range of styles as performing jazzmen and studio musicians.  We will hear them with their own groups, Horace Silver, Lynne Ariale, Don Grolnick, Kevin Mahogany, McCoy Tyner, Conrad Herwig, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Paul Bollenback, Chick Corea, Pat Metheny, Herbie Hancock, Saxophone Summit, the Mingus Big Band and Lew Tabackin.

The Slide show presents my photographs of some of the artists heard on this show.

Due to copyright restrictions, the audio from this show is no longer available. Audio links are available for one week after a show airs, starting on the Monday after the show.

The video presents the Brecker Brothers playing "Some Skunk Funk" in Barcelona in 1992 with Dennis Chambers on Drums, Mike Stern on Guitar, and James Genus on bass, and George Whitty on keyboards.
