Five months later, school district takeover getting mixed reviews

St. Louis – It's been about 150 days since the state took control of the St. Louis Public Schools and put Missouri's largest school district in the hands of a politically appointed board.

Ahead of the takeover, critics predicted dire consequences for a school district that would not be accountable to elected board members.

So what do these first 150 days tell us? Is the district's new CEO Rick Sullivan running the it like a corporation, or has the new transitional board afforded the district a much-need measure of stability?
