Huckabee Stars In New Ad For Akin

UPI/Bill Greenblatt

Republican Todd Akin is up with two new television ads, as his US Senate race enters its final eight days.

One spot features former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee, who also campaigned for Akin in the primaries. In that ad, "Strong as Steel," Huckabee calls Akin a good Christian man and a courageous conservative who can’t be bought.

A second ad, called "Jobs and Paychecks" speaks about Todd Akin’s plans to strengthen the family by making sure every family has a chance at a paycheck.

A new Post-Dispatch Mason-Dixon poll shows Akin trailing his Democratic opponent, Claire McCaskill, by two points. She has led by an average of four points over the last month.
