St. Louis, MO – Longtime Blues play-by-play announcer Ken Wilson was fired Thursday after 20 years of calling games.

John Kelly will take over. For the past nine years, John Kelly has been the TV voice of the Colorado Avalanche. He's also the son of late St. Louis Blues broadcaster Dan Kelly, and will come back to St. Louis to follow in his dad's footsteps.

John Kelly was named play-by-play announcer yesterday for the Blues' regionally televised games on Fox Sports Net Midwest and St. Louis TV station KPLR (Channel 11).

Ending is a two-decade broadcast run of Ken Wilson, whose contract was not renewed.

John Kelly signed a multi-year deal, but terms were not disclosed. A Fox Sports Net statement did not offer reasons for Wilson's departure.
