News reports saythe incident happened around 1:15 am at the Robert A. Young federal building on Spruce Street. The building houses several agencies, including the Department of Homeland Security, the Coast Guard, and the Army Corps of Engineers.

The device caused no injuries and very little damage. It landed on a sidewalk outside the building.

NAACP contemplating legal action over Imagine Schools closure

The NAACP is questioning why more than 3,500 students of the Imagine charter schools are not being given the option of transferring to accredited school districts.

The Missouri State Board of Education last week moved to close the schools, which were plagued with both academic and financial problems.

The head of the organization’s St. Louis branch, Adolphus Pruitt, says the NAACP is considering litigation under a contested state law that allows students living within the boundaries of an unaccredited district like St. Louis to transfer at no cost to an accredited district. He outlined his concerns on Friday in a letter to state education commissioner Chris Nicastro.

Paving project at Lambert means different location for passenger pickup

Passenger pickup for Terminal One at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport is moving - at least temporarily.

The airport is resurfacing the four-lane Arrivals Dr. outside the lower baggage claim. Shuttle buses will be able to use the road, put private vehicles will be redirected to a temporary pick-up area inside the parking garage.

Drivers picking up passengers will have a 15-minute grace period, but airport spokesman Jeff Lea is encouraging the use of cell phone lots.

"We do suggest that folks at those cell phone lots call ahead or make contact by mobile phone with their arriving party to make sure they're at their location and then make their way to the garage for that brief passenger pick-up time," he said.

The paving should be completed by the end of June.

The 8th-ranked Kings dispatched of the top-seeded Vancouver Canucks 2-1 last night in overtime.  Game times for the Blues-Kings series have not yet been announced. But with the Canucks loss, the Blues are guaranteed home-ice advantage until the final round.
