St. Louis Public Radio | 90.7 KWMU announced today that Shula Neumanhas been named executive editor. Neuman, who served as interim editor since the retirement of Margaret Freivogel in January of 2016, joined St. Louis Public Radio in 2013 as the editor of the organization’s health, science, education and race beats. This is Neuman’s second stint with St. Louis Public Radio.
Neuman has more than a decade of journalism experience as both a print and radio reporter. She came to St. Louis Public Radio after working as an editor for NPR in Washington, D.C. from 2011-2013. Prior to that, she spent two years reporting on economic development for WCPN-WVIZ in Cleveland. Neuman worked as a reporter and evening newscaster at St. Louis Public Radio from 2000-2002. She also served as the Director of News and Information at Washington University’s Olin School of Business from 2005-2008.
Neuman has a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University; an Executive M.B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis; and a bachelor’s from Reed College in Portland. Additionally, she is a 2015 graduate of Leadership St. Louis.
