On Sunday, Oct. 9, the eyes of the world turned to St. Louis as Washington University hosts the second presidential debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. We’ve laid out some of the things you need to know ahead of the debate (like road closures and the cost of such an event) here, but we’re also working to bring you updates day-of from our reporters and producers with St. Louis Public Radio.

In addition to timely news coverage throughout the day on 90.7 KWMU and on our website, St. Louis on the Air will have a live pre-debate special program from 3-4 p.m. on Oct. 9. Joining host Don Marsh in the studio were UMSL Political Science Chair Dave Robertson and nationally-recognized presidential debate specialist and SLU Professor Emerita of Communication Diana Carlin.

During the program, we heard up-to-the-minute updates from the Washington University campus where St. Louis Public Radio’s Jason Rosenbaum, Jo Mannies and Dale Singer will be reporting all day. We also heard from Washington University students about their feelings about the debate.

You can keep updated throughout the afternoon and evening after the program online here

You can also hear the debate itself on 90.7 KWMU, our website and follow-along with a live fact-check from the staff at NPR. You can also join us to watch the debate live in the Public Media Commons (it's free!). Details here.

On Monday, St. Louis on the Air will be back with a reporter roundtable and insights from Washington University’s Presidential Debate Chair Steve Givens.
