St. Louis Public Radio reporters honored with 2015 Missouri Broadcasters Association awards

St. Louis Public Radio | 90.7 KWMU’s newsroom was honored with four first-place and two certificate-of-merit awards at the 2015 Missouri Broadcasters Association Annual Awards Banquet held Saturday, June 6, at the Lodge of Four Seasons at the Lake of the Ozarks.

Political reporter Jason Rosenbaum earned two first-place honors, one in the Feature Reporting category for An 11-Year Old Provides Words of Wisdom About Ferguson, the other in the Sports Reporting category for Money? Pride? Both? Gauging the Value of Professional Football in St. Louis.  Rosenbaum also claimed a certificate of merit in the Spot News category for Michael Brown’s Death Shines Piercing Light on St. Louis’ Exposed Tensions.

Science and health reporter Véronique LaCapra, and business and innovation reporter Maria Altman shared first-place honors in the News Series category for More Illinois Farmers Are Embracing High-Tech Ag – But is “Big Data” Too Much Like “Big Brother”?, while general assignment reporter Stephanie Lecci took home a first-place honor in the Spot News category for National Guard Called in After Ferguson Shatters in Night of Rolling Confrontation.

Arts and culture reporter Nancy Fowler earned a certificate of merit in the Documentary/Public Affairs category for St. Louisans’ Photo Project Brings Older Transgender People Out of the Shadows.
