Grand Center is where you’ll find a variety of bands, beer tents, street art, food and drink specials and more Friday night.
This Music @ the Intersection Festival is one night in July, one in August and one in September. And it does not fit the pattern of the events in the Big List below. It has several bands each night in several venues.
Marquise Knox will be playing at Strauss Park from 5-7 p.m. Mo E 3 is at the Dark Room, 615 N. Grand Blvd., from 6:30-9 p.m. and Jesse Gannon Music Truth picks up there from 9:30-midnight.
Dave Black Duo with Joe Mancuso will play two shifts at Vito’s restaurant, 3515 Lindell Blvd., from 6:30-7:30 p.m. and 8-9 p.m. While back on Grand at Lucha, 522 N. Grand Blvd., the Bob DeBoo Trio takes the stage from 7-8:30 p.m. and DJ Nune is Lamar Harrisis on from 9 p.m.-midnight.
Big Mike Aguirre & The Blues City Allstars play Dooley’s, 601 N. Grand Blvd., from 7-8 p.m. and 8:30-9:30 p.m. with Soul Selector Tom “Papa” Ray providing the music from 9:30-11 p.m.
Jazz at the Bistro,3536 Washington Ave., will have the Phillip Dunlap Quintet from 7:30-8:30 p.m. and 9-10 p.m. The Kranzberg Arts Center, 501 N. Grand Blvd., is where you’ll find The People’s Key for two gigs: 8-9 p.m. and 9:30-10:30 p.m. Two performances are also offered at The Stage at KDHX, 3524 Washington Ave., where The Bottlesnakes are scheduled to go on from 8:30-9:30 p.m. and 10-11 p.m.
As with the Big List series, there is no admission.
Just a bit west of Grand, the duo Joseph Hess and Alex Cunningham (7:15-7:45 p.m.) and the musical group Sun Bros (8:15-8:45 p.m.) will perform at the Pulitzer Arts Foundation. Part of the Sound Waves series, this event also allows visitors to browse through a selection of vinyl records curated by KDHX DJs play them between performances
This, too, is free.
