Traveling this weekend? Keep these closures in mind

(via Flickr/Mykl Roventine)

It's another busy construction weekend in St. Louis, and that means lane closures throughout the weekend. Here are the big ones from the Missouri Department of Transportation:

  • All lanes on westbound I-64 between the Poplar Street Bridge and Jefferson will close at 8:30 tonight, after the start of the game between the Cardinals and the Cleveland Indians. The 10th Street and 14th Street ramps will remain open. The detour is I-44 to Jefferson.
  • One westbound lane will open at 6 am Saturday, and a second lane will open before noon. The far left lane going westbound will remain closed. Traffic will be traveling on the two right lanes, separated by concrete barriers.
  • Farther west, all westbound lanes on Interstate 44 will close Friday night from east of Entire Road to west of Lewis Road. The closure will last about 15 minutes between 11:15 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. and is not related to the current project on I-44 in that area.

And in another traffic note: according to St. Louis city Board of Public Service president Rich Bradley, the Grand Ave. viaduct will open to limited traffic (one lane in each direction) on June 14. The entire project must be completed by the end of the year.
