Updated 4:48 p.m. Feb. 9, 2011:

KSDK-TV reports that the injuries sustained were broken ribs and that Arch officials say the man was pinned between the tram and the structure of the Arch.

The Arch was closed for about an hour before it reopened.

Earlier Story:

A maintenance worker was injured inside the Gateway Arch this morning around 11 a.m., KMOV reports.

He's since been rescued from the structure's south arm, where he was working on a tram, the television station says.

The other tram of the Arch is still in operation and there is no information at this time about the extent of the worker's injuries.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the man is a National Park Service employee in his 50s, and was taken to St. Louis University Hospital
