The big news in the city of St. Louis was former Missouri state Rep. Kimberly Gardener's win over three opponents in the Democratic primary to become circuit attorney. She is the first African American to win to do so. In St. Louis County, outgoing state Rep. Rochelle Walton Gray defeated a 16-year incumbent to win a seat on the St. Louis County Council.
