Catch Le’Ponds Back On Stage At The Grandel In March
Prior to the pandemic, Lisa Houdei had started to feel a bit of burnout. She’s the St. Louis-based singer-songwriter known as Le’Ponds — a name she randomly adopted when she started writing indie-folk music 13 years ago. Once the coronavirus pandemic took away every live performance opportunity, she realized how much she loved it.
“Now it's just so clear. Because it's just precious to play music in front of people that want to hear it,” Houdei told St. Louis on the Air.
She’s been performing via live stream concerts occasionally, but last week, she had her most professional virtual concert yet thanks to Arch City Audio Visual Services. The local rental company used their warehouse to set up a concert with colorful, professional lighting and video editing — free to the band. It’s an effort to help out local musicians affected by the lack of performing opportunities.
The concert debuted on Valentine’s Day and will remain available to stream until Feb. 23. On Friday’s St. Louis on the Air, Houdei joined host Sarah Fenske to talk about her musical journey, her latest project and her excitement about her upcoming show at the Grandel Theater.
