Everyone has a personal connection to science.
Maybe you were reaching for a Nobel Prize with your high school science fair project until an unforeseeable error caused it to go down in flames. Or, perhaps you’ve been a researcher on an expedition thousands of miles from home, surrounded by people who don’t understand what you’re doing there. Or, you’ve listened to your doctor diagnose you with a condition that you’ve never heard of before. Whatever your science story is, we want to hear about it.
In 2017, St. Louis Public Radio partnered up with The Story Collider, a podcast that produces shows where personal stories about science are told live on stage. The Story Collider was founded by two physicists in 2010 and regularly puts on shows in New York City, Boston, Atlanta and various other cities around the world.
The Story Collider in St. Louis is produced by Gabe Montesanti and Sam Lyons.

Story Collider St. Louis - Astronomy
This fall we’re shooting for the stars in an astronomy-themed Story Collider event to help kick off the Tower Grove Park Park Astronomy Festival. Join us at St. Louis Public Radio on Friday, September 29th for an evening of true, personal stories about how looking to the skies can help us find what we’re searching for within. Hosted by Gabe Montesanti and Sam Lyons.
Then on Saturday, September 30th, Tower Grove Park welcomes the community for the second-annual Astronomy Festival! The event continues is from 3 to 9 p.m. at the West End of Tower Grove Park, featuring a vendor fair filled with hands-on activities and demonstrations, a screening of Wall-E, mobile planetarium shows, an Astronomy on Tap lecture, and ending the evening with night hikes, story time, and a stargazing & telescope viewing.
Presented by St. Louis Public Radio and the Tower Grove Astronomy Festival.
