A Jewish preschool in Creve Coeur is taking a proactive approach to talking about diversity.

Over the past few months teachers and parents with Temple Israel’s Deutsch Early Childhood Center have taken part in anti-bias workshops taught by the Anti-Defamation League.

The latest on Sunday brought the preschoolers into the mix.

Kenyun Robinson, 16, a sophomore at Roosevelt High School in the St. Louis Public Schools, has a desk and bookshelves at home. But he knows that many students do not, and that is why he was eager to work on a project that the Home Works organization brought to his school on Friday. 

A St. Louisan shares his Holocaust experience

Our own Julie Bierach shares this first-person account from Mendel Rosenberg of his experiences during the Holocaust. Rosenberg, along with three other concentration camp survivors, will share their testimonials at the St. Louis Yom HaShoah Commemoration this Sunday at Congregation Temple Israel at 4 p.m. Yom HaShoah is also known as Holocaust Remembrance Day, and is recognized around the world.
