Applicants for Mo. casino narrowed to 4 entities

By Kelsey Proud / AP, St. Louis Public Radio

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The competition for Missouri's last available casino license has been narrowed to four companies.
Five entities had submitted applications to the Missouri Gaming
Commission.
But commission spokeswoman LeAnn McCarthy said Tuesday a
proposal from Sunway Gaming LLC for a casino in Sugar Creek was
rejected because it was incomplete.
A second group also has proposed a casino for the Kansas City
suburb of Sugar Creek. Others in the running would place a casino
in Cape Girardeau, St. Louis or north St. Louis County.
Public hearings are tentatively scheduled for the end of this
month in Cape Girardeau, St. Louis and Kansas City.
Missouri has an available casino license because of this
summer's closing of the President Casino in St. Louis.
