St. Louis – Authorities are investigating whether 102-year-old St. Louis philanthropist and builder I.E. Millstone jumped into the Missouri River.

Family members reported him missing Saturday. Sgt. Al Nothum with the Missouri State Highway Patrol said a witness reported seeing an elderly man jump from the Daniel Boone Bridge around the same time Millstone disappeared. Nothum said a caretaker's vehicle was found nearby.

Family members told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that Millstone had been suffering from anxiety after taking pain medication for a shoulder injury, and had left letters to some relatives before he disappeared.

Nothum said without a body, authorities cannot confirm who it was the witness saw jumping.

Crews suspended their search of the Missouri River Sunday afternoon because another body was found in the Mississippi.

Millstone's company built many St. Louis landmarks, including the previous Busch Stadium and the elevated lanes of Highway 40.
