Waterloo, Ill. – A bank will take ownership of a Metro East house that was the site of a triple murder last year.
Authorities say Christopher Coleman spray-painted graffiti on a living room wall to make it look like an intruder had entered the home before he strangled his wife and two young sons.
Because Illinois law requires foreclosures to be sold "as is," the graffiti is still there.
Wells Fargo bid just over $256,000 for the Columbia, Illinois house Tuesday. The bank already holds the mortgage and was the only bidder.
Neighbors want the three-bedroom house torn down, saying it's a magnet for gawkers.
Coleman has pleaded not guilty and awaits trial. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.
