I just opened an email from Rachelle L'Ecuyer, the excellent PR master for Maplewood. Part of this missive directed late night/early morning folks to Tiffany's Original Diner. According to L'Ecuyer, "Here you can indulge in made to order eggs, fries, burgers and great milkshakes. Plus, while your eggs are frying, you can pop a dollar in the jukebox and be serenaded by your favorite Classic Rock tunes."
Dollar?!? Jukebox?
Wasn't the going rate three songs for a quarter? OK, maybe that was a few years ago. But what do you get for a dollar? Please say it's more than one song. And I know I can find jukeboxes in southern Illinois that will rock out a country song for a quarter.
In further bad news on the jukebox front, a close look at the photos our intern took at Crown Candy a couple of weeks ago indicates that the venerable eatery has a new jukebox. It plays CDs. But how much does it cost to play?
I may just have to make a hot-fudge-sundae-with-chocolate-chip-ice-cream run to find out.
