Belleville, Ill. – Authorities in St. Clair County have charged a 15-year-old boy as an adult in the shooting death of a man outside an East St. Louis convenience store.
Prosecutors charged Jevon Wilbourn of Washington Park with first-degree murder.
Authorities contend Wilbourn shot 28-year-old Damario Moore to death after the two exchanged words early Sunday outside the store.
Moore's widow, Trebla Moore, tells the Belleville News-Democrat that she and her husband went to the business to get ice and that her husband was at the wrong place at the wrong time.
Wilbourn is jailed on $500,000 bond at a juvenile-detention center.
He doesn't have a listed home telephone number, and it isn't clear if he has an attorney.
