St. Louis – Officials from the U.S. Census Bureau are launching the region's educational efforts about the 2010 count in St. Louis.
All 12 census regions will have their own "Portrait of America" road tour. Visitors will have the opportunity to see some of the questions on the form, and make a video that the Census Bureau may post on the Web.
Dennis Johnson directs the Kansas City regional office, which includes St. Louis. He said the Bureau does similar education campaigns with every census.
"There's a whole new generation of young adults and residents in our nation who haven't really been a part of the Census," Johnson said. "They may have been counted in 2000, but they weren't really active."
The count is used to determine Congressional districts and federal spending.
Analysts say Missouri is likely to keep all nine of its seats if the count is done well.
