St. Charles, Missouri – About 20 small business leaders met with US Labor Secretary Elaine Chao Friday in St. Charles to express their concerns over the high cost of health care.
Jim Henderson is president of Dynamic Sales Company, Inc. His insurance rates rose 25 percent last year. Henderson says in order for his premium to remain unchanged, he was forced to raise his deductible from zero to $1,000.
If Congress approves President Bush's economic stimulus plan, Chao says legislation would allow small companies to purchase insurance under the same procedures as larger ones.
