Maryville, IL – Churches in the Maryville, Illinois Ministerial Alliance will hold a special prayer service tonight in honor of Rev. Fred Winters.
The former leader of the First Baptist Church of Maryville was shot and killed Sunday while delivering his sermon.
27-year-old Terry Joe Sedlacek has been charged with first degree murder and aggravated battery in the killing.
Copper Creek Christian Church, Maryville Assembly of God, Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Our Lord's Lutheran Church, St. John's Lutheran Church, and St. Luke's United Methodist Church will participate in the "One Family: Many Locations" prayer service on Wednesday at 6:30 pm.
