This week, the City's Animal Control Officers will begin issuing tickets for fines from $100 to $500 for those who violate city animal laws and ordinances. The City will also enforce animal abuse violations, including illegal chaining and dogfighting.
Randy Grim, founder of Stray Rescue has formed an anonymous Animal Abuse Hotline where citizens can report abuse. Grim says the information will reported to the City.
"This is a city that's changing, and part of the ways that it's going to change is no animal abuse; zero tolerance," Grim said.
The Animal Abuse Hotline is (314) 771-6121, extension 232.
