Columbia, MO – The University of Missouri today permanently dismissed Ricky Clemons from the basketball program, ending his
troubled tenure with the Tigers.

Clemons earlier pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault in a case involving a woman who said she was choked and held against her will at his Columbia apartment last year. Then Clemons was involved in
an ATV crash near the home of the MU president on the night of July fourth. He was supposed to be serving his sentence in a halfway house.

MU Athletic Director Mike Alden says the 23-year-old guard was given a chance to honor his commitment. But Alden says,
"unfortunately for all parties involved, he did not do so."

A judge revoked the work-release assignment, and Clemons Sunday began serving the rest of his jail sentence.
