Crestwood, MO – Former president Bill Clinton stopped in the St. Louis area Tuesday to sign copies of his autobiography.
Hundreds of people waited outside a Crestwood bookstore, some since Monday afternoon, to meet the 42nd president.
Speaking to reporters before the event, Mr. Clinton said he disagrees with President Bush's comment that he believed the war on terrorism cannot be won.
"So what's going to happen is, and I think this is going to happen no matter who wins the election, hundreds and hundreds of people that none of us know are working on this everyday in all the intelligence agencies and all the law enforcement agencies with their counterparts all across the world," Clinton said. "They're all working on it, and they'll get better at it."
Mr. Clinton added the Republican National Convention is emphasizing President Bush's actions in the week after September 11, instead of what the president did before or since.
