Decomposed body found in Mississippi River
East St. Louis, Ill. – Investigators in East St. Louis are looking into the discovery of a decomposed body along the Mississippi River near the Casino Queen.
St. Clair County Coroner Rick Stone says the body found Sunday appears to have been in the river since the middle of June.
Illinois State Police Master Sgt. Dave Wasmuth says the body was dressed in orange shorts and white Nike tennis shoes. A white shirt with orange stripes was found nearby.
Wasmuth says fishermen found the body on the bank of the river. An autopsy is planned.
