Former Ill. educator gets Costello endorsement in race for Congressman's successor
Costello announced his decision to endorse Brad Harriman on Saturday with the following statement:
"Coming from a working class, union family, Brad knows the value of hard work and the importance of a good education. And after working 33 years as a teacher and a coach, Brad knows what it means to be a public servant and what an honor it is to go to work everyday for the betterment of your community. Brad will go to work in Congress to stand up for what this district needs the most: good jobs, good schools and safe communities. I am proud to support him and can think of no one better in this race to fight for hard working families and for a strong economic future for our nation."
Harriman said he was "honored" to have Costello's support. Harriman is one of three Democrats and four Republicans vying for Illinois' 12th Congressional District seat, which stretches from the Missouri border to southern Illinois. Federal Election Commission records list just five candidates - two Democrats and three Republicans, including a former GOP candidate for Illinois lieutenant governor, Jason Plummer.
