St. Louis – An organization that supports victims of clergy abuse is calling on three bishops to end their legal wrangling over who's responsible for the alleged harm.
The Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests or SNAP says the bishops of St. Louis, Belleville, and Dallas are locked in a legal struggle with each other.
Each claims the alleged offender, former priest Kenneth Roberts, is not his problem. Roberts lived and worked in all three dioceses.
An Illinois man in November sued the once prominent Roman Catholic priest who authored an autobiography "Playboy to Priest."
The alleged victim says he was sexually abused by the former cleric as an eighth grader two decades ago.
The lawsuit, filed in St. Clair County, Illinois, also names as defendants the archdiocese of St. Louis, and the dioceses of Belleville and Dallas.
