H1N1 vaccine available to general public

By AP/St. Louis Public Radio

St. Louis – Missouri health officials say there is enough H1N1 flu vaccine for anyone who wants it.

Until now, limited supplies led many local health departments to restrict access to children, pregnant woman and other high-risk people.

Through the first eight weeks of the flu season, Missouri doctors reported more than 26,000 flu cases. That compares to just 56 during the same period last year.

Officials say the H1N1 virus, also known as the swine flu, accounts for at least 90 percent of all cases reported this fall.
