Lees Summit, Missouri – The state of Missouri today approved spending $12-million to remove and replace an interstate entrance ramp in downtown St. Louis to accommodate a new Cardinals stadium.
The Highways and Transportation Commission voted unanimously to support the project. It calls for removing the eastbound I-64 ramp at Eighth Street and constructing a replacement ramp south of the interstate near Sixth Street. The Cardinals' plan calls for demolition of the existing ramp next summer.
The $12-million would come from the Missouri Department of Transportation's economic development fund.
