St. Louis – This week Daniel Isom was named the new chief of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police. The 41-year old is the department's third African American leader.
He takes over for Joe Mokwa, who resigned amid a towing scandal that may have cost the city $700,000.
The police department also faces many pressing neighborhood crime issues.
KMWU's Adam Allington asked Isom how he plans to address the city's spiking murder rate.
