The Keys and Strings Hour Plus New Music

Oct 28, 2018

Jazz Unlimited for October 28, 2018 will be “The Keys and Strings Hour Plus New Music.”  Duke Ellington’s music retains a strong pull on jazz.  The “Keys and Strings Hour” will present a number of tunes associated with him by ensembles featuring some of the greatest bass players in the music.  They include Ray Brown, Jimmy Blanton, Charlie Haden, Ron Carter, Dave Holland and Red Mitchell.  In last two hours of Jazz Unlimited we will present new music by two Bennies: Green and Wallace, the Marie Goudy 12-Tet, Way North, Scott Routenberg, Peter Nelson, our own Kent Miller, Chris Pasin, John Pittman, Steven Taetz, the Denny Zeitlin/David Friesen duo, the Tiki Collective, Kyle Nasser, Devin Gray, Keith Oxman with David Liebman, Walking Distance with Jason Moran, and Rich Halley.

The Slide Show contains my photographs of some of the artists heard on this show.
